sick day, pt. III.
wednesday, january 24th, 2024.
I've been sick with the flu since Saturday, and frankly: I'm over it. I took Monday off, but alas— I don't have enough time off to just rest so I'm flicking back and forth between working remotely and taking care of myself. I'm definitely grateful to be able to work from home, but gosh! it'd be nice to just take it easy and recover.
It's cold and drizzly outside— the sort of weather that makes you want to curl up with a book, a blanket, and a mug of hot chocolate. Thankfully, it's warmed enough that we don't have to worry about our pipes freezing. Anyway, it does make me glad that I'm not schlepping to work and back on my bicycle.
Speaking of bicycling, I'm going to be meeting with someone from Strong Towns tomorrow about starting a local conversation. I'm not quite sure what to expect, but I'm certainly hoping to hear some good advice for local community advocacy. I'm looking forward to the conversation!
I don't spend quite so much time online these days as I did in the height of the pandemic. It's probably for the best. Nowadays, I use my RSS reader to keep up with a variety of YouTube channels and blogs. Some of my favorites always make me feel giddy like Christmas morning. And there's a certain je ne sais quoi when I stumble upon a website with an eye-grabbing aesthetic.
Ho hum— I think I'll draw myself a bath to unstuffy my nose. Being sick is for the birds!
Until next time, be well. :)
