renaissance festival.

Weeks in the making, we finally made it to the Georgia Renaissance Festival yesterday! My partner worked hard on our costumes, and we finally went! I think the last time I went was back in high school.
We brought the girls, plus met up with friends, my partners' exes, and my coparent and her fiancée. I think our group was a little too large and pulling in too many directions to make for a particularly fun time, but it was nice to take in all the sights, sounds, and smells all the same. I think we might make this an annual thing, but invite fewer people along for the ride next year.
And oh! what people-watching there was to be had! So many folks going above and beyond to make some really killer outfits. Plenty a sullen rogue propped up on a fence and bright fairy wenches as far as the eye could see. It was a cosplayer's dream! Perhaps we'll revisit our own costumes and make them a little more elaborate for next year. 🥰
summer has arrived!
The kids are all out of school for the year. It's time for summer break! We plan on taking 'em to the lake a lot this year. Lots of visiting the parks around here, plus at some point we'll go visit my folks up in North Carolina's IBX for a little beach time. It'll be my first time taking my partner up that way!
Summer's probably my favorite season of the year, honestly. It does get ridiculously hot and humid here in Georgia, but I'm used to it and it's a good excuse to go visit the lake or beach. Plus, you can always get things done and exercise in the morning, letting the afternoons be meant for relaxing activities indoors.
